Fulcrum was brought on by SolutionHealth (Southern New Hampshire Health at the time) as the Construction Manager for the relocation and expansion of the new Digestive Health suite. Located on the 2nd floor, this project site is situated directly above the hospital’s 1st floor birthing unit.

With the goal of updating, improving, and expanding their operations to meet client and staff demand, the project was broken into 4 phases. Phase 1 included fitting up a 9,000 sf prep and recovery space. Remaining work started with Phase 2 which included fitting up a 2,000 s/f waiting area for patients followed by Phase 3, and phase 4 areas which included renovating for new procedure rooms, clean workspaces, and scopes. Throughout all phases, the new Digestive Health suite received new mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and medical gas systems as well as upgraded acoustical ceilings, flooring, paint, doors, and wall protection.

To minimize disruptions to the birthing unit while also considering the existing 1st floor ceilings already had many existing conduits and piping, the project team collaborated to decide on the use of a vacuum plumbing system.
