Fulcrum Helps Rebuild Pleasant Valley Camp Following Devastating Storm

Following a powerful storm that caused extensive damage at the YMCA of Greater Boston’s Pleasant Valley Camp, Fulcrum Associates quickly mobilized to help restore the campground in time for the summer season.

Wind gusts exceeding 100 mph toppled hundreds of trees and destroyed 19 structures throughout the camp. With a limited window before campers were scheduled to return, Fulcrum worked closely with the YMCA and project partners to coordinate cabin design, material takeoffs, procurement, and construction. More than 30 framers were mobilized to help accelerate the rebuilding effort.

Within just a few weeks, the team completed 15 new cabins, a 17′ × 34′ bathhouse, and three additional support buildings, helping Pleasant Valley Camp reopen and welcome campers back for the summer.

The rapid response was made possible through close collaboration among the owner, designers, trade partners, suppliers, and construction professionals involved. Fulcrum is grateful to everyone who contributed their time and expertise to an extraordinary team effort and helped restore an important place for campers and families.
