Fulcrum was awarded Portsmouth Regional’s new Free Standing Emergency Room in Dover, NH. The project consisted of a new single story 11,000SF, 24/7 ER. The new facility would provide in house acute cardiac and trauma care, mobile CT and X-Ray along with behavioral health, bariatric, and on-site lab capabilities. Fulcrum worked hand in hand with Portsmouth Regional and dozens of third-party vendors to coordinate every step of the build. The facility was constructed through an incredibly harsh winter, making exterior EIFS and brick finishes incredibly challenging. In accordance with the program requirements, Fulcrum completed several critical interior areas ahead of the completion of the project. CT, X-Ray, and Lab were among the most challenging areas to be completed two months ahead of the project completion date. PCRA and ICRA standards were developed and implemented to ensure the facility and its staff would not be impacted by the ongoing construction surrounding the completed areas. Containment and air quality management plans were implemented until construction could be completed. Once the facility was operational, punch list and corrective work was incredibly difficult to complete. Fulcrum implemented a zero-punch policy to ensure the impact post construction was incredibly low.
