Monday, October 17th marked another milestone for the Newport Health Center in Newport, NH, located at 11 John Stark Highway. The new building is now occupied and accepting patients. Demolition of the former Newport Health Center building is in process to allow for the completion of the patient drop off/parking area and construction of the canopy over the main entrance to the new building.
Construction of this project began in October 2015 for the new 28,600sf health center operated by New London Hospital, a Dartmouth-Hitchcock affiliate. The new building is designed as a transitional New England architectural style with a complement of brick veneer, clapboard, and shake siding. Accent trim banding, roof cornice trim, and a reverse slope entrance canopy punctuate the design. The health center will offer primary care, pediatrics, gynecology, podiatry, occupational health, laboratory, x-ray, mammography, and rehabilitative services. New services include diagnostic ultrasound, orthopedic casting, and oral health.
